🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1956, a family in Watertown, New York, observed a bright triangular object with a red dot at its center. The main witness, a 44-year-old homemaker, described it as an object that changed size and shape, appearing to spin repeatedly. She observed it from her window for 11 minutes, using high-powered French binoculars. Although she initially thought it might be an aircraft, she could not identify it with certainty. The official report classified it as an astronomical phenomenon, likely Venus, due to its position and brightness. However, the testimonies agree that the object had an unusual appearance, with blurry edges and a slow rotation.
The case includes sketches by the witness and detailed statements from other family members. Despite subsequent investigations, no radar or confirmed sightings supported other explanations. The official conclusion was that it was a misinterpretation of Venus, but the descriptive details suggest the experience was memorable and not easily explained by conventional causes.
