Summary

In April 1956, a witness in McKinney, Texas, reported a six-hour observation of an unidentified flying object. The object was described as silver with a band around its middle, not rotating and moving westward, maintaining a fixed position relative to Venus. It had no visible appendages and glowed intensely, as if made of translucent elastic material. Multiple witnesses, including an amateur astronomer, confirmed the sighting, though the object could not be definitively identified.

The official investigation concluded there was insufficient data to determine the nature of the phenomenon. Possibilities such as weather balloons or conventional aircraft were ruled out. The report includes measurements and triangulations suggesting the object was at a great altitude, possibly over 100 miles above Earth. Additional sightings later, including red and blue lights traveling at extremely high speeds, further add to the mystery of this case.
