🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1956, a witness in Rome, New York, reported an object that appeared to have the silhouette of an aircraft, but larger than a C-47. The object displayed orange, red, and blue hues and remained visible for three minutes. Although the possibility of it being an aircraft was considered, no exhaust trails or engine sounds were detected. The observation was made with binoculars from the airport control tower, adding credibility to the account.
The U.S. Air Force investigated the case, ruling out other explanations such as balloons or astronomical phenomena. It was suggested that the object could have been an aircraft seen through dust or haze with reflected lights. However, the official report classified it as "possibly an aircraft," leaving open the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon.
