🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A cylindrical object was sighted in Tacoma, Washington, on April 30, 1956. Witnesses described a slim object, 2 inches wide and 18 inches long, with red lights at each end. It had no wings or visible propulsion and emitted the sound of a piston engine. The object moved east and then north, leading investigators to conclude it was likely an aircraft. Despite the lack of photographs, the detailed testimony and observed characteristics shaped this evaluation.
That same month, other sightings across the United States and Canada added to the narrative of that year. From mysterious lights in Cumberland Beach to a rotating-light object photographed in Massachusetts, the testimonies reflected a variety of shapes and behaviors. Although many cases were classified as insufficient for a definitive evaluation, these reports capture the curiosity and mystery surrounding UFO sightings in the 1950s.
