🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Baltimore, Maryland, reported a luminous object resembling a star with a circle around it, the size of a grapefruit and orange in color. The object was observed for 1 hour and 30 minutes through a small telescope, maintaining its azimuth while descending toward the horizon in the ENE direction. Weather conditions indicated strong northwest winds up to 80 knots, complicating identification as a balloon. However, the report concluded there was insufficient data to evaluate the object's nature.
The report noted that the object's movement did not align with expected patterns for a balloon or astronomical observation, as its azimuth remained unchanged. Additionally, no changes in color, motion, or intensity were recorded to aid identification. Despite the long observation time, the lack of precise directional confirmation and other key data left the case unresolved. The report was classified as "Insufficient Data for Evaluation," highlighting the ambiguity of the phenomenon.
