Summary

In May 1956, the skies above Pueblo, Colorado, became a mystery when residents and ground observers reported the presence of unidentified flying objects. For six consecutive nights, from May 2 to May 7, fluorescent lights of triangular and round shapes were seen moving rapidly from east to west. Witnesses described objects the size of a baseball or a melon, with white fluorescent colors and shapes that seemed to change. Although initially considered balloons or aircraft, the erratic movements and lack of clear evidence led investigators to conclude that there was insufficient data to determine what was seen.

The Air Force sent an investigation team, including Sergeant Gilbert Nelson, who observed six distinct appearances between 9 p.m. and midnight. According to his reports, the objects were visible for only a few seconds and moved at an astonishing speed. Despite efforts, no precise identification was achieved, and the case remained unresolved. The presence of mysterious lights generated so much interest that it made headlines in newspapers across the United States, making Pueblo a point of interest for ufologists and curious onlookers.
