Summary

In May 1956, a witness in Oxford, Pennsylvania, reported observing a bright yellow light at about 2000 feet in the air. The light moved at the same speed as his car, indicating a significant velocity. Despite driving at 80 mph, the witness could not catch up to the object. The light was so bright it was compared to Venus and was twice as luminous as the car's headlights. The report was received by ATIC in January 1957, but no immediate verification could be done due to the delay in reporting.

Authorities considered various explanations, from balloons to aircraft, but there was no conclusive evidence. The lack of noise and the object's speed added mystery to the case. Although some possibilities were ruled out, the report concluded there was not enough information to determine the nature of the phenomenon. This case remains an unsolved mystery in the history of UFO sightings.
