🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1956, a witness in Oklahoma City observed a round object the size of a match head, silver in color, which appeared in the south, passed overhead, and disappeared to the north. The object maintained a steady course and did not perform erratic maneuvers. Despite aircraft being scrambled, no results were found. Due to the duration, trajectory, and description, it was considered possibly a balloon.
The report also includes an additional sighting from Norway near the Russian coast, where a ship's crew observed a similar object. The object performed rapid and mysterious maneuvers, and was estimated to be twice the size of a commercial aircraft. Although no photos were taken, the witnesses were certain they saw a flying saucer. Norwegian intelligence neither confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the report but promised to investigate.
