🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A cylindrical object, the size of a basketball, was observed in Sibley, Iowa, in June 1956. The witness described it as light brown and saw it moving slowly northward. The observation lasted about three minutes, which caught the attention of investigators. Although the possibility of a balloon or aircraft was considered, there was no conclusive evidence to confirm it.
Researchers concluded it was probably a balloon, though an aircraft was not ruled out. There were no additional data to help identify the object with certainty, and the visual description did not include features that made it clearly unconventional. This case was filed without a definitive resolution, but remains an interesting example of how sightings were recorded in the 1950s.
