Summary

In June 1956, a civilian in Columbus, Ohio, reported seeing 2 or 3 small, bright aerial objects. The objects, the size of a pencil tip and the color of a flashbulb, appeared for a few seconds before disappearing into an overcast sky. The witness saw them from inside his house, through a window, which explains the short duration of the sighting. Although balloon and astronomical explanations were initially considered, investigators concluded it was likely an aircraft that vanished into the clouds.
