Spherical UFO sighted in Euclid Ohio

Summary

A large white object was seen and detected by radar in 1956. It was a sphere slowly rotating at an altitude of around 5-6 thousand feet, drifting northeast. Although several fighter jets were diverted to the area, they failed to make visual contact. Observers, both civilian and military, reported the presence of the object, which was classified as a probable balloon. Moreover, the fact that it moved with the wind supported this assessment. There were no photos or sounds associated with the phenomenon, adding to the mystery. The radar used was the AN/FPS-E, an advanced system for the time.
