🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1956, three witnesses in Oklahoma City observed three lights moving from east to west. Each light appeared to consist of two bright points, the size of a silver dollar held at arm's length. Observers described a rhythmic sound, like a pulse or a rumble, adding mystery to the event. The sighting lasted two to three minutes, and the objects were estimated to be at 5,000 feet. Although initially it might seem like an unexplained phenomenon, investigators concluded it was an aircraft landing with its landing and navigation lights on.
The information reached Project 10073 through a letter from the Commander of the Oklahoma City Ground Observer Squadron. This officer agreed with the assessment that the sighting was related to an aircraft landing at Will Rogers Field. Despite the detailed description and unusual sound, there were no photographs or additional data complicating the conventional explanation. This case reflects how many UFO sightings end up being explained by normal aerial objects, even when initial descriptions suggest otherwise.
