🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1956, a witness at Los Angeles International Airport spotted a round object initially thought to be a blimp. The red-colored object was observed for several minutes through binoculars before turning into a ball of flame and disappearing. Despite the detailed description, investigators concluded there was insufficient data to determine its nature. Options such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena were considered but none were confirmed. The report from Project 10073 noted the sighting as inconclusive.
The official report highlighted the ambiguity typical of many UFO sightings at the time, where observations were often incomplete or subjective. Although the witness insisted it was not a balloon, the lack of photographic or radar evidence limited analysis. The case remains an unresolved mystery.
