🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Long Beach, California, reported a round object the size of a pea with red flashes, moving in circles for 26 minutes. The observation was made from the ground, without radar or photos, and the object showed no wings or tail. Despite clear visibility, investigators concluded it was likely the planet Mars. The astronomical position and the object's behavior supported this interpretation.
The night was exceptionally clear, allowing excellent visibility, but it might have also confused the observer. After consulting with the division controller, no further action was taken, as the object stopped and was identified as a celestial body. This case shows how astronomical phenomena can be misinterpreted as unidentified objects.
