🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
On July 17, 1956, a pilot at Mastic Aprt, Long Island, observed a tear-shaped object the size of a door, green in color with a white stripe. It blinked and was seen for 1-2 seconds. Five minutes later, the pilot saw three more objects. The record suggests it could be a balloon or flares.
Although the report mentions the possibility of an astronomical phenomenon, the visual description and the short duration of the sighting suggest a more earthly explanation. The lack of precise data prevents a definitive conclusion, but the analysis points to a conventional explanation.
