In July 1956, a radar at Westover AFB, Massachusetts, detected an object exhibiting unusual behavior. The object, which appeared as a regular target on the screen, was larger than usual and accelerated rapidly. Most surprisingly, it was able to make a 180-degree turn in less than six seconds and change speed within seconds. The report notes that no photos were taken and altitude was not reported, complicating analysis. Despite all other air traffic being accounted for, the object vanished without a trace.
