🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1956, a witness in Lakeport, California, observed two objects flying westward for three to four seconds. The visual sighting included no photographs, only a drawing. The report classified the phenomenon as an astronomical meteor, ruling out balloons, aircraft, or other objects. Although brief, the sighting generated interest due to its unusual nature.
The report, part of Project 10073, shows how civilian testimonies were collected to evaluate unexplained aerial phenomena. Despite the short duration of the observation, it was considered sufficient for a specific classification. This case reflects the methodology of the time, where even fleeting events were documented with care.
