🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Macon, Georgia observed a bright fireball with two long tails moving rapidly across the sky. The object, described as the size of a basketball at arm's length, had bright orange, white, and red colors in its tails. It traveled in a straight path from northeast to southwest for three to five seconds before disappearing behind trees. Although initially reported as a possible UFO, investigators concluded it was a meteor. The description matched typical features of a luminous meteor, confirming its astronomical nature.
The report reached Project 10073 via an official Air Force form, and after evaluation, no further investigation was needed. This type of event, while striking, is common and often easily identified by astronomy experts.
