🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1956, a witness in Chilton, Wisconsin, reported a bright white object with an "arm" protruding from the rear. The object was observed for over three hours, slowly ascending and flashing different colors. Although a pilot had two brief radar contacts, he couldn't clearly identify the object. Investigators concluded it was likely the planet Venus, as it matched the location, time, and description. However, the inability to confirm with radar and the unusual duration of the sighting raised doubts. Another report from Cadillac, Michigan, described a "bright white light" that suddenly vanished, with no success from aircraft or radar in detecting it. The confusion continued, especially due to the absence of any known balloon or object in the area.
