Summary

A civilian observer in Presque Isle, Maine, reported a round object the size of a grapefruit, bright yellow in color, that remained stationary in the sky for fifteen minutes. The witness used 7X50 binoculars and described the phenomenon in detail. After being covered by dark clouds, the object disappeared. The sighting was confirmed by a university astronomy professor and a local air base weather officer, both agreeing the object was Venus. This case, under Project 10073, was quickly resolved and not considered an unexplained phenomenon.

The case resolution was swift due to collaboration with local experts. Other possibilities such as balloons, aircraft, or different astronomical phenomena were ruled out. The official report concluded no signs of anomalous activity and that the identified object was Venus, accepted by project authorities.
