🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1956, a civilian from Dallas, Texas, captured a photograph of what appeared to be an unidentified flying object (UFO) near Amarillo. The image showed a bright trajectory in the sky, which the witness described as a phenomenon moving through clouds at high altitude. According to the report, the object emitted an intense light, similar to phosphorus ignition, and was observed for over two hours. Despite the duration and clarity of the description, military authorities could not definitively identify the phenomenon. Several explanations were considered, such as a rocket, an aircraft, an astronomical event, or even a hoax. However, none of these were confirmed.
The case remained in classified files for years, and it wasn't until 1960 that an official response was given to a public inquiry. The Air Force concluded that there was no conclusive evidence that the object was extraterrestrial or of space origin. It was suggested that it could have been an atmospheric phenomenon or even a photographic manipulation. Despite the lack of a definitive explanation, the case remains one of the most intriguing UFO incidents in U.S. history.
