🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1956, a witness in Carrollton, Ohio, observed a cigar-shaped object approximately 15 feet long with a silvery color that changed to blue and had a glowing red edge. The object moved up and down, side to side, and headed northwest at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 feet. A humming sound was noted, and the object was seen for 25 minutes, both with the naked eye and binoculars. The observer, not an expert, insisted the object was neither a balloon nor a conventional aircraft.
The official investigation concluded there was insufficient data to determine the nature of the object. Although possibilities such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena were considered, no conventional explanation proved conclusive. The case was assigned to various units for analysis, but ultimately it was filed without a definitive resolution.
