Summary

In August 1956, a witness in Wall Lake, Michigan, observed a round object the size of an orange at arm's length. The object emitted a bright glow and was seen for two minutes, both with the naked eye and binoculars, before fading into the horizon. The description of a "bright glow in the sky" caught the observer's attention, a 38-year-old engineer. Although no photos were taken, the report suggests it could have been an aircraft or a jet contrail, but no conclusive data exists.

The official evaluation considered the sighting possibly attributable to an aircraft, but the possibility of an unidentified object was not ruled out. The detailed description and behavior of the object generated enough interest for the report to be shared with several military units, including the Air Technical Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson. Despite the lack of physical evidence, the case remains an example of how UFO sightings were documented and analyzed in the 1950s.
