🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1956, a yellow object was observed in Woburn, Massachusetts. Witnesses saw it for ninety minutes, describing it as a disk moving slowly. Initially thought to be a balloon or an astronomical phenomenon, authorities couldn't reach a definitive conclusion. The observation was made with binoculars and a temperature inversion was considered as a possible explanation. However, the object's reappearance in the same place after 90 minutes complicated this theory.
The Air Force evaluated the case and concluded there was not enough data to determine the object's nature. Several hypotheses were considered, including aircraft, balloons, and astronomical events, but none were confirmed. The case was filed as "possibly astronomical," without ruling out the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon. Despite the lack of clear answers, the witnesses' testimony and the duration of the sighting generated interest in the scientific community and air defense services.
