🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Iowa described a long, bright object traveling from north to south. It was estimated to be five to six feet long with a diameter of one inch. The object, silver in color, was observed for one minute and disappeared with a flash. Although the observation duration was considered unusual, the rest of the characteristics matched those of a meteor.
The object's description and behavior caused some confusion. Investigators concluded it could be a meteor, but other possibilities were not ruled out. The lack of photographs and the brief nature of the sighting made a definitive evaluation difficult.
