🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1956, a witness in New York described a bright object moving erratically across the sky. It was a round, orange and white object, the size of a dime at arm's length. The object bobbed up and down, climbed, dove, and circled for 25 minutes. Despite the long observation time, no photos were taken and no official report was filed.
The official evaluation suggested the object could be a balloon, though it was not confirmed. The bobbing motion and wind direction supported the possibility of a balloon. However, the report also noted errors in the aircraft's coordinates, complicating a definitive conclusion. This case remains one of many where insufficient data leaves multiple explanations open.
