🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1956, a pilot from Eastern Airlines reported a bright object in the sky over the Azores. The aircraft was flying at low altitude when it encountered a glowing, orange and white light moving in the same direction as the wind. The object remained visible for 20 to 25 minutes, drawing attention from observers. Military authorities reviewed weather data and ruled out the possibility of a weather balloon, as its trajectory did not match expected air currents. However, it was considered that it could be an astronomical body, though no definitive conclusion was reached.
The report includes detailed information about weather conditions and wind patterns at different altitudes, which helped eliminate some hypotheses. Despite investigations, the phenomenon had no clear explanation. This case is part of a series of UFO sightings that sparked debates about the nature of objects seen in the sky. The lack of images or additional data made it difficult to resolve the case, but official records show the authorities' interest in thoroughly investigating each report.
