🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1956, an observer in Newburgh, New York, captured images of two white objects appearing next to the sun. The photograph, taken with a Polaroid camera and various filters, raised some controversy. The official report suggested that the objects were simple optical reflections caused by the refraction of sunlight through the filters. Despite the prolonged observation, investigators concluded there was insufficient evidence to consider the objects as unexplained phenomena.
The detailed analysis indicated that the images were not consistent with each other, supporting the theory that they were optical artifacts. The absence of clouds in some photos and their presence in others suggested that the filters had been manipulated differently. Although the observer insisted the objects were real, military authorities concluded there were no supernatural or unknown elements in the case.
