In August 1956, three civilians in Fontana and La Jolla, California, reported seeing red objects in the sky. The first sighting showed a round object with a bright red light and a tail, similar to a comet. A second sighting showed a five-inch object with a red tail. Finally, two round objects the size of a pea were seen flying in formation. Despite detailed descriptions, observers concluded these were not conventional aircraft.

Authorities evaluated the reports and concluded there was not enough information to identify the objects as astronomical phenomena or aircraft. The description of yellow and white lights, along with straight flight and turns, suggests something unusual.
