🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1956, a 17-year-old in New Briton, Connecticut, observed a bright object moving directly away from him. The object was white, the size of a quarter, and was seen for two minutes. Despite the clear description from the witness, the lack of additional data prevented a conclusive evaluation. Researchers considered possible explanations such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena, but could not determine the nature of the sighting with certainty.
The report, classified under Project 10073, was deemed insufficient for a definitive assessment. The witness did not provide additional details such as noise, precise trajectory, or changes in the object. Although the possibility of an aircraft was considered, there was no evidence to support this theory. This case reflects the difficulty investigators of the time had in distinguishing between conventional objects and unexplained phenomena.
