🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1956, a glowing sphere was observed above Henderson Harbor, New York. The object, described as a circular sphere with a reddish interior and green exterior, was seen for approximately 35 minutes. It moved in a straight line toward the east, at a bearing of 310 degrees, and gradually faded from view. Witnesses used binoculars and direct visual observation, adding credibility to the sighting. Although a fighter jet attempted to make contact with the object, officials concluded it could have been a balloon or even a star, though its rapid movement and sudden disappearance raised doubts.
The official evaluation did not reach a definitive conclusion, noting that the data was insufficient for a conclusive assessment. However, the report highlighted that the object's behavior was not typical of a balloon or a star. The detailed description of its movement and disappearance suggests it could have been something unusual. This case, though unresolved, is part of a series of UFO reports that reflect the uncertainty and curiosity these phenomena generated at the time.
