🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1956, a witness in Dorchester, Massachusetts, observed an oval or round white and light blue object, the size of Mars. The object moved at jet speed, below the clouds, and traveled southwest. For five minutes, the observer watched as the object decreased in altitude, made full circles, and continued on its path. It finally disappeared behind some trees. Although no photos were taken, the report suggests the object could have been an aircraft landing at Logan International Airport in Boston. The flight pattern and behavior of the object support this hypothesis.
The official evaluation concluded the object was probably an aircraft. The consistency of the observation, the descent pattern, and the manner of disappearance are consistent with a normal landing. Despite the clarity of the explanation, the case was documented and filed, as was common at the time for unconventional aerial sightings. This type of record helps understand how UFO sightings were handled in the 1950s.
