In September 1956, three civilians in Big Bethel, Virginia, observed a mysterious object with a crescent shape, similar to the moon. The object, red or golden in color, moved silently without a tail or trail. Although initially thought to be a balloon or aircraft, its behavior and appearance didn't match known objects. Witnesses agreed that the object gradually moved toward the horizon and its interior appeared blurry, making a clear identification difficult.
