UFO seen in Ashford in 1956

Summary

In September 1956, two calls reached the control tower at an airfield in England about a bright object in the sky. A woman from Kent reported seeing it 15 miles southwest of Ashford. Later, a soldier from Rochester saw it twice, first to the southwest and then to the southeast. The base reported it as possible cosmic ray balloons, but no further investigation was done. Researchers couldn't obtain more details or identify the witnesses.
