🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Colorado Springs, Colorado, observed a bright object with an orange hue and a tail in September 1956. The object was seen for two to three seconds, streaking downward at a high speed. Although initially considered a UFO, investigators concluded it was a meteor. The description of the object, its tail, and the duration of the sighting matched typical characteristics of a daytime meteor. The report, part of Project 10073, documents this case as an example of how natural phenomena can be mistaken for unidentified objects.
