Summary

In September 1956, an observer in Hamilton, Ohio, reported an object resembling a star. The object had a red bottom and green top, and behaved like a star, appearing and fading continuously. Although there was no radar contact, officers evaluated that it was likely the star Capella, located at approximately 40 degrees azimuth and 15 degrees elevation. The observation was continuous, and no other objects or air activity were recorded in the area. The report concluded the phenomenon was astronomical, ruling out the possibility of a balloon, aircraft, or other unidentified objects.
