🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1956, a high school student in Odebolt, Iowa, observed an object with blinking red and green lights for eleven minutes. The object, the size of a nickel at arm's length, moved from east to west and eventually disappeared toward the southwest. Although initially considered the possibility of a balloon or an astronomical phenomenon, investigators concluded it was probably an aircraft. The description of the lights and the object's course supported this evaluation.
The sighting was recorded as a ground visual observation, without radar or photographs. The witness did not report any interference or unusual activity beyond the object's passage. Despite the considerable duration of the observation, there were no additional data to confirm a more exotic explanation. The official report concluded it was an aircraft, although the description of the object remains intriguing for UFO enthusiasts.
