🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1956, a UFO report in Cincinnati, Ohio, caught the attention of researchers and military authorities. A civilian took photographs of a luminous object near the moon, prompting a detailed analysis by the Air Force. The images showed an oval-shaped light that did not seem to be related to the night sky. Experts concluded it was likely a balloon or an optical illusion caused by the telescope's positioning. Despite doubts, the case was filed without a definitive explanation, leaving open the possibility of an unidentified aerial phenomenon.
The original report included comments from a civilian witness who noted that the light had no wings or tail and made no sound. This, along with the absence of radar traces, complicated the object's identification. Although the possibility of a known aircraft or satellite was ruled out, no conclusive explanation was reached. The case was shared with other agencies, but no satisfactory answer was found. Ultimately, it was considered either an astronomical phenomenon or an optical illusion, but the mystery remained unresolved.
