🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1956, a round object the size of a baseball was seen in the sky over Plano, Illinois. The witness described flashing lights in red, orange, and green. Although the object remained visible for some time, investigators concluded it was likely a balloon. No conclusive evidence of an unknown craft or conventional aerial activity was found.
The report, part of Project 10073, was deemed insufficient for a definitive analysis. The lack of precise data and the visual nature of the observation led to a tentative evaluation. Despite the unusual lights and size, no sounds or movements were recorded that suggested a conventional aircraft. The case was filed without resolution, but remains an interesting example of UFO reports from the era.
