🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1956, a U.S. Air Force officer observed an unidentified flying object during a weather reconnaissance mission. The incident occurred 60 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri, while the T-33 aircraft was at 35,000 feet altitude. The object appeared as a round, very light yellow light with no tail or sound, moving at an estimated speed of over 1200 knots. Despite ideal visibility conditions, the observer could not identify it as a meteor, rocket, or conventional aircraft.
The Air Force concluded the case as "unknown" due to insufficient data. The pilot, an experienced officer with thousands of flight hours, and the onboard meteorologist both agreed it was not a natural phenomenon or a regular plane. The object's description and unusual behavior make this an intriguing case in the UFO files of that era.
