Summary

In November 1956, a civilian in Wilmington, Delaware, along with his two sons, observed four streaked light objects that resembled light reflected from an aircraft wing. The objects appeared suddenly while they were stargazing and moved northeast in a triangular formation. They vanished after five seconds, without trace. Witnesses described them as pea-sized at arm's length and noted no maneuvering, suggesting natural movement.

The U.S. Air Force classified the incident as an astronomical phenomenon, likely meteors. Although a balloon or aircraft were considered, insufficient data ruled out other explanations. An official report by an officer from the 82nd Fighter Group detailed weather conditions and the absence of air traffic in the area. Despite the brief sighting, the collected data allowed for the dismissal of conventional explanations and pointed to a natural event.
