In November 1956, a witness in Canton, Ohio observed a red-orange pencil-shaped object for fifteen minutes. The object, about eight inches long, remained stationary in the sky and disappeared when the clouds changed direction. Despite the visual observation, no photos were taken and no additional data was recorded. The lack of detailed information made it impossible to reach a conclusive evaluation. Investigators concluded that there was insufficient data to determine the nature of the object.
The original report was considered inadequate, so an additional form was sent to the witness for more details. However, the results did not provide new information. This case is an example of how the lack of concrete data can prevent a clear classification of an unidentified aerial phenomenon.
