🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1956, a U.S. Air Force officer in South Dakota reported seeing an object resembling a jet engine flame with a blue head and orange tail. It moved at an extraordinary speed, faster than any known jet, and appeared as a glowing trail without a solid shape. The observer, initially reluctant to report due to fear of ridicule, insisted it was not a meteor or atmospheric phenomenon.
The detailed account, including a sudden sharp climb and abrupt disappearance of light, raised questions about its nature. While the report considered a meteor as a possibility, it was ultimately labeled "possibly astronomical" without a definitive conclusion. The officer’s 16 years of service and conviction in his sighting added credibility to the unusual event.
