🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1956, a witness in San Bernardino, California, observed a luminous object that left a striking trail in the sky. The object, described as a blue flash with red sparks, appeared to be the size of a dime at arm's length. It was seen falling vertically for five seconds before disappearing below the horizon. Although initially considered a UFO, investigators concluded it was likely a meteor. The description, duration, and manner of disappearance supported this theory, though other possibilities were not ruled out.
The official report, part of Project 10073, recorded the sighting with precision. The witness, a civilian, provided a clear account of the event. Despite no conclusive evidence of a spacecraft, the case was documented as part of the government's efforts to understand unidentified aerial phenomena. This brief observation contributed to the data archive that helped researchers distinguish between natural events and potential unidentified objects.
