UFO in Valley City 1956 with Radio Disruptions

Summary

A police officer in Valley City, North Dakota, reported a round object slightly larger than a baseball at about 1000 feet altitude. The object moved rapidly up, down, and sideways and hovered. When the officer approached, the object quickly disappeared to the west. The most striking detail was that as he got closer, he lost radio contact with the local station and also with Jamestown, a phenomenon usually only seen during severe weather.

The observation lasted 15 minutes and no photos were taken. Although several explanations were considered, such as balloons or aircraft, the conclusion was that there was insufficient data to evaluate.
