🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An observer at the control tower of NAS Key West reported a bright flash of white light in December 1956. The object appeared for an instant, without sound or trail. It was located just one degree above the horizon, heading east, but its size and distance could not be determined. The observation was visual, without optical aid, and lasted only a few seconds. Weather conditions were clear with 15 miles visibility, which did not help identify the phenomenon. After investigation, military authorities concluded there was no aircraft, balloon, or other activity in the area, but they lacked enough data for a definitive evaluation.
