🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1956, a witness in Glenwood, Iowa, observed an object slowly floating toward the ground, changing color from brown to white and then to green before disappearing. The object descended vertically for thirty seconds, showing no signs of lateral movement. The description, duration, and trajectory of the object led investigators to conclude it was likely a flare or similar device. Although no photos were taken, the report accurately details the event's characteristics, making it a curious and well-documented UFO case.
The official evaluation of the case ruled out a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical phenomenon. Instead, it was considered more plausible that it was a signaling device. These types of reports, though often dismissed as explainable, are valuable for understanding how unidentified aerial phenomena were recorded in the 1950s, an era of great interest in the unknown.
