🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A round white object with a tail was observed in Medford, Oregon, in December 1956. A witness from Western Airlines saw it at an altitude of 16,000 feet while traveling north. The object was visible for five seconds, indicating a fast and linear trajectory. Despite the brief observation, investigators concluded it was a meteor. The description and duration of the event align with a typical bright meteor streaking across the night sky.
The classification of the report was canceled, allowing its analysis today. The object showed no sound or anomalous features, and the weather was clear with partly cloudy skies. Although the witness did not identify it as a meteor, the collected data points to a natural explanation. This case is an example of how brief and high-altitude sightings can be challenging to interpret without additional evidence.
