Spherical UFO seen in Washington DC

Summary

An intelligence officer from the 452nd Fighter-Day Squadron reported observing a UFO with an oval and flat shape, larger than a basketball, appearing white and turning orange. The observer saw it for about 15 minutes, but the object vanished when he went inside to report the sighting. At least four aircraft were in the area. Although initially considered a weather balloon, the possibility of an experimental USAF aircraft was also suggested. No action was taken due to the limitations of the F-100C aircraft.
