🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1956, a woman in Maine observed a bright green object descending near her children's swings. The event lasted a few seconds and left a mark she attributed to the object's contact. Convinced it was a flying saucer, she sent her account to Senator Margaret Chase Smith, who forwarded it to the Air Force. Despite investigations, officials concluded the sighting might be a hallucination or light reflections.
The official evaluation considered the observation lacked objective evidence and deemed the witness unreliable. Explanations like balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena were dismissed. However, the case remains intriguing due to its political connection and the witness's insistence that the objects were silent and partially transparent. The mark on the swings turned out to be a factory decal, yet the controversy around the event persisted.
